And We’re Back!

Sorry about the hiatus, everyone!  Mom wasn’t feeling very well.  Apparently the holidays are harder on humans than they are on cats! But we made sure to nurse her back to good health :)

We don’t have much to report today, just that there are a lot of things in the works behind the scenes!  Mom says she’s working on making us something called a “Pinterest account“.  We don’t really know what that is, but she says that means more people will get to enjoy our furry faces and silly antics, so that sounds like a pretty good plan to us!

She also shot some more video of us recently, so we’ll have some new movies up on our YouTube channel in the next week or so, hopefully.  If you haven’t checked us out there already, click here to join the fun.

Not only that, but mom says she’s finally going to finish our latest Adventures of Baseball and Zooey book.  And we think that’s the most exciting news of all. Baseball has been waiting a long time to get his very own book instead of just being a walk-on in one of those silly stories about Zooey!  So be sure to keep an eye out for that as well.

And don’t forget, you can always follow us on Facebook and Twitter for even more cute animal pictures, pet advice, and information – even on days we’re not updating the blog!

That’s right – after a month-long delay due to family visits, illness, and just plain procrastination – Zooey The AcroCat is finally published!

We’re just waiting on the ISBN to be processed now, and our first copy of the book to arrive , and then we’ll be turning it over to you to purchase :)

In the meantime though, we want to send out a huge thank you to all of our readers, supporters, and everyone who has helped us and inspired us during the writing process.  Once upon a time I was a girl with a dream and a couple of cats, and now I’m the published author of two children’s books!  It’s been a pretty surreal experience to say the least, and it wouldn’t be possible without you all!  So thanks again!

Yay!  Today’s the day!

This morning, Baseball, Zooey, and I finally launched a shop for the site!

Now you can buy the newly released Zooey and Her Soldier directly from Baseball and Zooey themselves! And, as we mentioned in Friday’s post, although it won’t be ready quite as soon as we’d hoped, our latest book Zooey The AcroCat will be joining the shop in a few short weeks!

Not only that, but we still have a few more secret goodies up our sleeves that we’ll be revealing over the course of the summer ;)

Yesiree, the next few weeks are gonna get pretty exciting around here – keep checking back to make sure you don’t miss a second of the action!

Zooey in Action – Sometimes a bit much for Baseball

Delay of Catification

Hello lovely readers!  We hope you’re having a fantastic Friday!

Unfortunately, as the title of this post hinted at, there’s going to be a little delay of publication when it comes to our latest book Zooey The AcroCat!  As much as we had hoped to be able to get the book out to you by the end of this month, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen :(

I know, I know!  We’re disappointed too!  But we’re also kind of excited because the reason for the delay is a visit from family!  That’s right, my little one-year-old nephew who I haven’t had the chance to meet yet, and my brother and sister-in-law, are coming up from New Mexico!  And in order to get in as much quality time as possible during their visit, everything else in life is going to be put on hold for about a week :)

The good news is that we’re almost done with the illustrations and writing, so with Baseball and Zooey as my cheerleaders, I’ll get all the loose ends tied together before they arrive, and the finished book should be ready and waiting for me to send away to the printers by the time they head back home!

Oh, and want some MORE good news?  Starting Monday, you’ll be able to purchase Zooey and Her Soldier from a shop on our very own site!!!

New Stuff!

Yay!  We’re really excited!  We’re working on a TON of new stuff – including a lot of new additions that will be coming to the site in the next few months!

It’s going to be a busy summer!

What do we have in store for you?  Well, we’re working steadily to get a shop up and running so you can buy our books straight from the site!

We also just ordered a bunch of fun stuff for some new (super secret!) projects – I am impatiently waiting for it to get here so we can get started already!!

In the Making – “Zooey The AcroCat”

Zooey The AcroCat will be out at the end of the month, and in the meantime, we’ve been hard at work getting everything ready for publication!

Just for fun though, we decided to share a couple of the sketches in the making!  We know you liked the sneak peek of the cover, so here’s another one – this time though, we’re sharing a little more of the process with you…

Here are a few of the pages in the works – before they were painted!

Just a little explanation of how it works: The first penciled in border is my template for knowing how big the actual page is going to be – the second penciled in border is my key for the “bleed border”.  It’s considered the cut-off point – anything you want to make SURE gets onto the page needs to be inside that border :)

Zooey The AcroCat won’t be coming out for about another month, but today when I sat down to work on it, I decided it might be fun to give you guys a sneak peek of the book. So here’s a shot of the cover art!
